Direct Deposit is a free service that automatically deposits your salary, Social Security, or any recurring income directly into your new Comerica checking account. With Direct Deposit your banking is easier than ever. And you'll appreciate all the time-saving benefits, such as no more waiting in teller lines or having to go to the ATM just to deposit your paycheck.
We've made it easy for you to establish your Comerica direct deposit and let any organization know that you have a new bank. And completing the process takes just a few steps:
- Download the Automatic Deposit Transfer letter
- Print the form
- Enter your information
- Mail or submit to your human resources/payroll department
And that's it! The time required to complete this process depends on how long it takes your organization to establish a direct deposit or to transfer deposits from your former institution to Comerica Bank. The amount of time varies based upon transaction type. Please use the following as a guide for planning purposes:
Automatic Deposits
- Payroll 14 - 60 days
- Pension 60 - 90 days
- Social Security 30 - 60 days
Direct Deposit Your Government Check
NOTE: Be sure to maintain sufficient funds in both your former bank account and your new Comerica Bank account to cover outstanding checks, automatic withdrawals and payments. Some human resource departments may have their own internal form for activating direct deposit.
